U19 World Cup: India Won 5th Title

India won a record-extending 5th U19 World Cup defeating England by four wickets. On Saturday, the historical moment was witnessed by the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Stadium North Sound in Antigua.

In 2020, Bangladesh defeated India. But the subcontinent came back and lifted the U19 World Cup crown in 2022.

England got the toss as well as they decided to bat first in the U19 World Cup final. They could not take advantage of the winning toss. Ravi Kumar played well with the new ball. Jacob Bethell and captain Tom Prest did their work. Raj Bawa led the Indian bowling U19 World Cup.

With the help of James Rew, England tried to fight. But the Indian bowlers took the wickets of the English regularly. Finely, the English batsmen got 189 all out in 44.5 overs. Raj Bawa, the centrestage of the game bagged a fifer as well as Ravi Kumar bagged four wickets.

In reply, batting Angkrish Raghuvanshi returned to the pavilion in the first over itself. Shaik Rasheed (50) and Harnoor Singh (21) helped India to reach a better score. India lost the wickets of Captain Yash Dhull at 17. In the semi-finals against Australia, he led India with a century.

But Nishant Sindhu (50 not out) and Raj Bawa (35) confirmed the victory of the India team. With the six of Dinesh Bana, India kissed on the 5th U19 World Cup.

Ganguly, BCCI president, and former Indian captain tweeted congratulating the Indian team. PM Modi also congratulated the Indian team for winning U-19. He also said that the future of Indian cricket is in safe hands.
