Jharkhand: Two Killed and Several Injured In A Cable Car Collision

Two killed and several injured in a cable car collision near Baba Baidyanath temple in Jharkhand. According to the report 48 people were trapped in the cable cars. The Indian Air Force is trying to save the people. Narendra Modi is monitoring rescue operations in Deoghar.

The Accident happened in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district on Sunday. The reason for the accident is that the cable cars on the ropeway collided with each other. 28 hours passed after the incident.

32 people were saved from India’s highest vertical ropeway. There are 16 people still on the cable cars, said the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) assistant commandant. Rescue operations can not continue at night. The rescue operation is during the day time. Indian Air Force helicopters are airlifting the people. The area is a hilly forest area. So the operation is not easy.

Vinay Kumar Singh, National Disaster Response Force, informed the media that they gave food and water to the trapped people via drones. The accident is considered due to the technical snag. The staff who takes care of the ropeway rushed to the spot. Some people jumped from the ropeway and were seriously injured.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is participating in the operation, said Deoghar Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri. Local people are very supportive, and they are helping in the operation. DC assured that all the tourists, trapped in cable cars will be saved safely.

Sought the help of NDRF teams. The Trikut ropeway is the highest vertical ropeway in india. The Baba Baidyanath Temple is 20 km away from the incident’s location. The Trikut ropeway is 766-metres-long. Four people can travel in a cable car. There are 25 such cable cars.
